Which Format Should You Choose?

Use the following tips to help you decide on a format:

  1. You should have the latest version of the player you select installed on your computer. If you do not have a player installed, you can click on the logo to download the latest version of the player you choose.
  2. If you wish to use Windows Media or QuickTime, you must select the bandwidth level that best reflects your network speed.
  3. For the best experience with Windows Media, use a browser that has the ActiveX Control for Windows Media Player such as Internet Explorer 6 or Netscape 7.1.
  4. Users of the Mac OS will have the best experience when using a Gecko based browser such as Netscape, Firefox, or Mozilla and the QuickTime format.
  5. Users of the Opera web browser will have the best experience with the QuickTime format.
  6. The full screen support for QuickTime is limited. It will play in full screen from beginning to end, but will not easily toggle between window and full screen modes. Player controls in full screen mode are not provided by QuickTime Prior to Version 7.
