Web/MAX Web Server Network IP Settings
Red Hat Linux 7.3 and 7.2
Login as root.
On the GNOME desktop: Select Main Menu Button >
Programs > System > Network Configuration.
OR
On the KDE desktop: Select Main Menu Button >
System > Network Configuration.
OR
From a shell prompt type "redhat-config-network"
and press < Enter >
Select the Hosts tab.
Highlight the IP address you want to change and click
Edit. This will bring up a new window.
Change the IP address and click OK.
Click Apply to save changes.
If you need to change the Gateway, select the Devices tab.
Highlight the device to change and click Edit. This will bring up a new window.
Make changes to the Gateway here and click OK.
Click Apply to save changes.
Click Close to exit Network Configuration.
Verify the IP address and Gateway are correctly changed
in the following files:
etc/hosts
etc/resolv.conf
etc/sysconfig/network
etc/sysconfig/static-routes
etc/sysconfig/networking/devices/ifcfg-eth0
etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
Note: The IP address and Gateway can be changed by directly
modifying the files above using an editor such as gedit, pico,
or vi.
Red Hat Linux 7.1 and earlier
Login as root.
Type "netcfg" at a shell prompt.
Select the Hosts tab.
Highlight the IP address you want to change and click Edit. This will bring up
a new window.
Change the IP address and click Done.
Click Save to save changes.
If you need to change the Gateway, select the Routing tab.
Highlight the line you want to change and click Edit. This will bring up
a new window.
Change the Gateway here and click Done.
Click Save to save changes.
Click Quit to exit Network Configuration.
Verify the IP address and Gateway are correctly changed
in the following files:
etc/hosts
etc/resolv.conf
etc/sysconfig/network
etc/sysconfig/static-routes
etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
